THE DEADLINE FOR FOREIGNERS TO REGISTER FOR THE ELECTORAL

The English government has decided to extend the deadline to be entered on the electoral roll foreigners who want to vote in municipal elections May 22, according to confirmed sources from the Office of the Ministry of Interior Embassy of Ecuador in Madrid.

The term, which began last December 1 and due to end on Jan. 15, has decided to extend until Tuesday 25 January.

Last Friday, January 7, Ambassador of Ecuador Galo Chiriboga Zambrano wrote to the Senior Vice President and Minister of Interior Spain, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, requesting an extension.

In his letter, the diplomat reminded that the registration on the electoral register is a prerequisite for them to vote in the upcoming municipal elections Ecuadorian citizens and other nationals resident in Spain, whose countries have signed agreements in this matter.
